Gilbert Labossiere
Born October 27, 1941 in St. Leon, Manitoba, Mr. Gilbert Labossiere passed away peacefully at the age of 80 in his home. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.
Gilbert had a passion for brick masonry which he took so much pride in. The love for his job sent him travelling all over Manitoba, bringing back laughs and memories. During his free time, he enjoyed making puzzles, telling stories from back in the day, and always had time for a drink. You would often hear him listening to the radio and of course fiddling on the weekends. We will remember his smiles, laughs, teasing, playfulness and occasional, endearing stubbornness.
Gilbert is survived by his four children: Caroll (Dwight) Williams, Bernard Labossiere (Lynne Forbes), Daniel (Stacey) Labossiere and Lucette Labossiere (Norbert Picton), four grandchildren: Stephanie (Cam) Wright, Jacqueline Williams, Jessica and Cameron Labossiere, three great granddaughters: Kaylee, Arya, and Olivia Wright and many nieces, nephews, friends and cousins.
He is also survived by his sisters Edna Henderson and Marielle (Don) Craw; sisters-in-law Sally Labossiere and Diane Labossiere; mother-in-law Emilia Laurin; and in-laws, Florette (Dave) Senko, Claire Fillion, Louise Brule (Don Land) and Noel (Rachelle) Laurin.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of 37 years Lucille (née Laurin), his parents Méo (Lucille née Grenier) Labossiere, his brothers Victor and Wilfred Labossiere, his sister Florette Henderson, his father-in-law Gérard Laurin, brothers-in-law, Lionel Laurin, Bob and Lawrence Henderson and his nephews Tommy Labossiere and Gérald Laurin.
Not a minute, not an hour,
Not a day will go by.
We won't think of you, Dad
And smile or sigh.
You enriched our lives,
While you were here.
Now we must learn to live,
Without you so near.
Time may soften the blow,
But your memory won't fade.
Not a day will go by,
We won't wish you could have stayed.
Funeral Services will be held at a later date. Video Tribute available to view below.
