Peacefully, with her family by her side, Karen Wise passed away at the Lorne Memorial Hospital on December 26, 2022 at the age of 61 years.

She will be forever loved by her husband David; her children Brittany (Adrien), Colin (Katie) and Riley; her cherished grandchildren, Kenzley, Zander, Everleigh, Owen and Bennett; her parents, George Van De Kerckhove and Doreen (nee VanCauwenberghe); her sisters, Debbie (Daniel) Hacault and Nadine (Kerry) Van Cauwenberghe; her dear friend Charlene Dittmer: as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She is predeceased by her dog Mya; her parents-in-law Kenneth Wise and Mary (Middleton); her brothers-in-law, Ken Wise, Shaun (Sharon) Wise and niece Heidi Wise; her grandparents, Theophile Van De Kerckhove and Marguerite (nee Claeys) and Marcel Van Cauwenberghe and Elodie (nee Buydens) and Henri D’Hont.

Karen was born on January 9, 1961 to George and Doreen Van De Kerckhove, she grew up in Swan Lake with her two sisters, where her love for the outdoors grew. She later married David Wise, and together they have three children. Over the years, she became involved in her community, being apart of the Chamber of Commerce, teaching figure skating and 4H.

Karen had many loves in life, her dog Mya, a delicious slice of pie, her garden and yard, road trips, concerts, a good crossword puzzle and playing the accordion. But, most of all her joy in life was her grandchildren, they were her world. Her love for them will forever be present in their memories.

The family has chosen to celebrate Karen’s life privately. The service will be available to be viewed on Friday January 6, 2023 at 2 p.m.
