Obituary

Lorraine Lesage
(née Grenier)

Peacefully at the Notre Dame Foyer on Saturday, January 16, 2021, Lorraine Lesage of Notre Dame de Lourdes, MB passed away at the age of 86 years.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Paulette (Grant), Gisele (Armand), Paul (Sonja), Roseline (Marcel), and Rheal (Lynda); her grandchildren, Jennifer (Cory), Stacy (Pat), Jill (Ryan), Daniel, Janelle (Richie), Stephan (Sara), Joel (Autumn), Nicolas (Anne-Marie), Aislynn, Phil (Grace), Eric (Jenesse), Dylen, Christopher, Liam and Alyssa (Logan); her great-grandchildren, Will, Brynn, Emma, Owen, Alex, Natalie, Lily, Jaylin, Colton, Cassidy, August, Theodore, Adelynn, Raylen, Bennett, Josephine and Miles; her brothers, Antoine (Cécile) and Paul (Noreen); brothers and sisters-in law, Gertrude Hague, Jeannette Aminot, Eileen Grenier, Louis Bynski, Richard (Alice) and Roger (Cécile); as well as numerous nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Lorraine was predeceased by her husband Adrien, her parents, Alcide and Berthe (née Labossière); her brother, Célestin; her parents-in-law, Paul and Marguerite (née Brick); her in-laws, Yvette (Henri) Daudet,  Charlie Hague, Fern Aminot, and Louise Bynski; and several nephews.

Lorraine enjoyed cooking for family and friends. No matter what she was doing, anyone knocking on their door would receive a warm welcome and be offered something to drink and eat.  She always had home-baked bread and pastries available, something that she has passed down to her kids and grandkids.

Lorraine certainly never shied away from hard work. Having been raised on a farm and marrying a farmer she put in many long hours helping wherever needed, all while maintaining a huge garden and always having big meals ready for all the helping hands.  And amazingly, she always found time to give back to the community, she was involved with the 4-H, the annual Fair & Exhibition, she was a Filles d’Isabelle for many years and involved in many other committees and fundraisers.

Growing up, whenever we needed a ride to either meet our friends, take part in 4-H or attend after-school activities, she never hesitated to drop what she was doing to bring us. She always put everyone else’s needs in front of her own.

In the later years, mom lived for her grandkids and her great grandkids.  She would always light up whenever they visited, and she would always hate to see them go. They were her world!

Mom not only enjoyed baking, she loved taking care of her flower beds, and had many hobbies, knitting, crocheting and sewing. No matter what was needed she could whip it up --- she certainly whipped up many Halloween costumes for her kids and grandkids.

Mom never complained, right till the end, if anyone asked her how she was doing, she would say “I’m better and how are you?” always with a smile and a sparkle in her eyes.
Mom (grandmère) was our ROCK and will be greatly missed.  We will hold on to all the fond memories until we meet again.  WE LOVE YOU!
