Louise Nostedt

Louise Victoria Nostedt passed away peacefully at home in Winnipeg on November 16th 2022 at the age of 71. She leaves to deeply grieve her husband of 36 years, David Dixon, and her children Jonathan (Kimberly) Dixon, Elizabeth (Kevin) Olson, Christopher Dixon & Jeremy Dixon along with her grandchildren Julia, Noah, Thomas, Jack Dixon and, Adalyn and Olivia Olson. Her siblings Alan (Aline), Elizabeth (Thomas), Bill (Brenda), James (Aline) and Chuck along with many nieces and nephews to mourn her passing.

She was born in Holland, Manitoba to loving parents Thomas and Victoria Nostedt in 1951. She grew up in Treherne, Manitoba where she held many fond memories and where her children spent much time growing up. She graduated Medical School which ultimately saw her move elsewhere in the province of Manitoba to serve many families and communities before meeting and marrying her loving husband David.

They relocated to Winnipeg to raise their family which gave her the opportunity to form relationships and treat regular patients in several clinical settings while also working evenings and weekends when being asked at other city based walk in clinics. Her strongest desire was always to spend time with her husband and family. Although her medical career was ended prematurely after a car accident it was just one of many times that her strength and character shone brightly throughout a long recovery.

As her children grew older she had the opportunity to travel to Crete, Greece which she was so enamoured with that the entire family relocated there for a few years during her retirement. Her care for her parents and children ultimately brought her back to Canada and before having the opportunity to seek out another adventure, adventure came to her with the birth of her first grandchild.

She spent the last 10 years continually bestowing a self sacrificing, affectionate love to her family, sharing joy while spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. Her passing leaves her family in shock and all lamenting the desire to spend more of their lives in her love and effortless grace. We are all filled with more love and made better thanks to her influence.
