Obituary

Margaret Edith Sanders

(née Rollo)

Margaret Edith Sanders died peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 20, 2023 with her husband Odiel and family by her side.

Margaret leaves to mourn her husband Odiel; her children Jerome (Bev), John (Rita) and Jacqueline (Chad), as well as grandchildren Emily, Natalia, Madeline, Thomas, Olivia, Adele, Sophia, Simon, Luke, Hannah and Annie.

Also left to mourn are her sister Evelyn (Bill), and in-laws Leon (Elise) Sanders, Andre (Evelyn) Sanders, Godelieve (Roger) Vanwynsberghe, Gaston (Judy) Sanders, Gerard Sanders, Marguerite (Gerard) Raes, George (Shelia) Sanders and Freeda Sanders, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Margaret was predeceased by her sister Kathy, parents John and Elise Rollo, parents-in-law Maurice and Gerarda Sanders, in-laws, Maria (Remi) Demare, Dorothy Sanders, Michel Sanders, nephew Lucas Sanders and niece Grace Griffith.

Margaret was born January 5, 1952 in Hamiota, Manitoba. She lived with her parents on a farm near Beulah, Manitoba. Margaret graduated from St. Boniface School of Nursing in 1972.

Margaret and Odiel married on November 3, 1973 and farmed near Altamont, Manitoba up until the time of her death, with her sons Jerome and John and their families. Margaret had worked as a Registered Nurse from the time of her graduation until their marriage. She then took on the role of a mother and maintained that she was simply doing the most important job that a woman can do. She was overjoyed that her children did the same.

Everything that Margaret did was centered around her two unwavering passions: her deep Catholic faith and her love of her husband, children and grandchildren.

During her whole life and even after learning of her illness, Margaret never failed to give thanks for the blessings she received.

We wish to thank all the family and friends that visited us, the people who brought food and the kind thoughts and prayers for Margaret and her family. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to all caregivers who provided such wonderful care, companionship, and support during Margaret’s final months.
