Marie Guyot-Yaremchuk
(née Blanchard)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marie, dear wife, mother, sister, and Mimi (grandma) on October 22, 2002.
Marie was born Sept. 30, 1941 in Haywood MB. Being the youngest of 5 children, she was definitely spoiled, but she had a zest for life and a great sense of humour. She had a love for playing cards, music and dancing, (especially fiddle music) and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She could cook a gourmet meal in 5 minutes or less and accommodate anyone who walked in the door. Her numerous knitted works are treasured by family and friends.
Marie spent 28 yrs married to Claude Guyot, working the kitchens in construction camps, and being a farm wife and mother in Fannystelle. She also opened her heart and home to many foster children. Marie worked for Home Care in the Fannystelle area for many years, and was favored by many of her patients as she always gave that little extra to make them feel special.
After Claude's passing in July 1988, she met Bob and they were married in 1992. Bob and Marie lived in West St Paul until her passing. Together they enjoyed travelling, fishing, and camping across Canada. Marie's devotion to her family was shown by many phone calls, baking, visits, and genuine care and concern for all of us!
Marie will be lovingly remembered by her family : Bob; Donald (Jeannine Rosset), Jérome, Eric, Stéphan, Jocelyne of Fannystelle; Lorraine (Kevin Anderson) of Calgary AB; Marcel (Marilyne Rouire), Patrick, Brigitte of Haywood; Lynne (Roger Vaillant), Myriam of Haywood. She will also be sadly missed by her sister and guardian angel, Marguerite (Camille Syrenne) of Winnipeg, who spent countless hours with Marie and was with her to the end; brother Maurice (Dolorès Carrière) Blanchard of Brandon; and sister Anna (Gerald Jobin, deceased 1990) of Winnipeg; as well as numerous nephews and nieces, extended family including step son Roy (Lucille) Erin, Kevin(Jennifer), Michael(Wanda); and many very special friends.
Marie was predecessed by her parents Nestor Blanchard (1958) and Obéline Buisson (1993); and brother Joseph (Jeanine Vallée, deceased 1970) Blanchard (1990).
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Seven Oaks, St.Boniface MICU, and Concordia ICU for their compassion and care. Thank you to Msgr Louis McCloskey for the spiritual support.
