Martha Ketsman (nee Van Den Bosch) was born in Itegem, Belgium on January 31, 1920. Months after her birth the large family immigrated to Canada and settled in the Bruxelles/Holland area.  She attended Oak Hill School and frequently reminded us that she was always at the top of her class...and then with a smile would admit that she was the only one in her class!  She married Mike Ketsman in 1948 and settled in a farm near Swan Lake.  Years later they moved to Winnipeg but after 4 years they returned to country living in Somerset in 1961.  Her legacy includes 4 daughters (Freeda, Sheila, Irene, Joyce) and 97 grand and great-grand children.

Martha was an extremely talented woman who was willing to try and earnestly work at a variety of activities including sewing, baking, photography, oil painting, drawing, knitting, crochet, old time dancing, and cards (of course!).  Her greatest gift to all was her quick smile and her happy disposition.  She will be missed...
