Antoine "Tony" Grenier

Peacefully on Thursday April 28, 2022 with his family by his side, at the Notre Dame Foyer, Mr. Antoine "Tony" Grenier passed away at the age of 85 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Cécile (née Thevenot), his children Denise and Martin (Dolores), his grandchildren Mélanie (Jean), Josée (Bryce), Isabelle, Justin, Janik and Taya, and his great grand-children Noah and Emmett. As well as brothers and sisters-in-law Eileen Grenier, Noreen Grenier, Noëline Thevenot, Paul and Ruth Thevenot, Adrien Thevenot, Shirley Thevenot, Mary Thevenot, Maurice and Ilene Thevenot, Romeo and Ellen Thevenot, Sr. Juliette Thevenot sgm, Bishop Albert Thevenot M. Afr and Eva Dansereau, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Tony was predeceased by his parents Alcide and Berthe (Labossière) Grenier, parents-in-law Paul and Yvonne (Girouard) Thevenot, his siblings Lorraine (Adrien) Lesage, Célestin Grenier, Paul Grenier and four infant siblings, as well as brothers and sisters-in-law Raymond Thevenot, Yvonne and Nelson Lemieux, Doreen Thevenot, Pauline Thevenot, Roger Thevenot, Jerome Thevenot and Hervé Dansereau.

Tony was born in 1936 at his Mémère and Pépère Labossière's home. Tony had many fond memories growing up in St. Léon with his siblings and many cousins where teasing and hard-work would go hand in hand. On June 5, 1965 Tony married the love of his life Cécile. Together they raised two children Denise and Martin on a farm outside of Notre Dame de Lourdes. Tony and Cécile moved to town in 1998. He continued to help on the farm during seeding and harvest. As time went on Tony and Cécile could be seen cruising the countryside to check crops or pick up parts.

Tony volunteered his time on the Foyer Notre Dame Board, the Hall and Hockey Committee and helping out at the Agricultural fair.

Tony's favourite pastime was playing snooker. One of his proudest moments was when he won the Championship at the Cartwright Snooker Tournament. He also enjoyed spending time at the coffee shop sharing the latest local "news".

Above all else, Tony loved spending time with family and friends. He especially loved making memories with his 6 grandchildren and more recently with his 2 "petits bonhommes". Tony was a loving husband, Dad and Pépère. He left a lasting impression to all those who knew him.
