I was just listening to 'We May Never Pass This Way Again' by Seals and Crofts. I cannot hear this song without thinking of Jerry. It was one of the many songs he performed in ther early 80s, first with Zig Askerski (sp) and later with Bob Pastrick. My buddy and I would catch their set at Sorrento's in Winnipeg and Jerry would always come and visit during their breaks. Not only was he supremely talented but so generous with his time and energy. I was saddened to learn of his untimely passing. Condolences to his family and friend. Jerry was a very special man.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Gerry's family at this time. Gerry's gift in the classroom was evident and he had a positive impact on our daughter as her grade two teacher but especially as her grade five teacher. Thank you Gerry, you will be missed.

Lise and family, I am so sorry for your loss.
I was a student of Monsieur McNair's. He was a wonderful teacher and made a huge impact on my life.
He used his guitar to build our confidence and give us the gift of music. To this day "More than Words" is one of my favorite songs and I started teaching my children "C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S" this year.
Throughout the two years with him, he gave me the encouragement, confidence and support to believe in myself. More importantly, I left his class realizing that I belonged.
I can only imagine the amazing things he went on to do after teaching. The world lost an amazing person and gained a blessed angel.
I will always remember Monsieur McNair and am so grateful to have known him.
Thinking of you all at this time,
Joanna

Lise and Family. We want to offer our sincere condolences and we are very sorry for your extreme loss. Gerry had a huge impact in our community and was very much loved and appreciated by the community and Staff at the Ginew Wellness Center. We were all shocked, saddened and in a state of unbelief when we heard of his passing. He will be greatly missed in many Manitoba First Nations. His legacy will live on in the lives he helped change in many communities. Gerry was a great man, one of kind, a very loving compassionate soul who had the gift of connecting with everybody and making them feel special, at ease and wanting to do life with him. In your grief remember that he was loved by many and his life had a huge impact all across Manitoba.
