Welcome to the memorial page for

Michelle Beaudin

March 19, 2017

Michelle Josephine Beaudin

(née Allard)

It is with woeful yet thankful hearts we announce the passing of our beloved wife, Mom and Mémère from this world to our loving and merciful God. Michelle died peacefully on her birthday, the morning of March 19th, 2017 (age 67) at the Stonewall Hospital in the presence of family. What a heavenly gift and party she must have enjoyed!

Michelle is predeceased by her father Laurent Allard, brother Jacques, father in-law Albert Beaudin, mother in-law Jeanne (née Girard) and brothers in-law Ron Lorenz and Paul LaFlèche.

Michelle is lovingly remembered by Florent, her devoted husband of 47 years, and their treasured children Rachelle (Mat) Wiebe, Julie Anne (Leigh) Dyck and Daniel (Erin) Beaudin and her six precious grand-children Beaudy, Trinity, Violet, Heathly, Hudson and Keaton. Also left to cherish her memory are her mother Laurette Allard (née Bernardin), her siblings, Denis, Sylvie (Ralph) Piché, Luc (Diane) Allard, Marie Anne (Bill) Fitzgerald, Véronique (Brian) Gibson, Elizabeth Thomas and Michelle's in-law family Catherine (Jacques†) Allard, Estelle (Ron†) Lorenz, Vic (Louise) Beaudin, Sheila (Barry) Fairbrother, Gilbert (Cathy) Beaudin, Orval (Delores) Beaudin, Phyllis (Paul†) LaFlèche, Gilles (Lucille) Beaudin, Anita (Roland) Richard, Diane (Luc) Allard, Guy (Denise) Beaudin, her 38 nieces and nephews and their families. Each of you should know your names, ages, birthdays and wedding anniversaries were attentively recognized by Matante Michelle as she marked them annually on a calendar as documented in the infamous "FBI Family Directory".

Michelle was born March 19, 1950, the second of eight children, to Laurent and Laurette Allard from Lido Plage, Cartier MB. She grew up happily on their family farm where love of God, family and friends abounded, as did chores. The Allard farm was a popular meeting place for friends and fun - no doubt where her gifts of hospitality, charity, faith and a love of life took root for Michelle. She attended the one room school house, Todd School on Lido Plage, and St. Paul's Collegiate in Elie MB. Michelle earned her teaching certificate in 1968 and later her Bachelor of Education in 1986 from the University of Manitoba. She began her teaching career in St Jean Baptiste as Mademoiselle Allard, an 18 year old "hottie" in hot pants, and finished forever immortalized as the popular "Madame Beaudin", teaching Maternelle for over 25 years at École St. Eustache and "graduating" to Prémière Année for her last few years of teaching (she was sooo excited to teach the kids to read!). So many of you will recall starting each day singing "Bonjours les amis bonjour", learning "les couleurs" from her garden vegetables, washing baby dolls in ice cream buckets to learn "les partis du corps", growing beans in plastic cups, observing the development of tadpoles from frogs eggs caught in her front yard ditch, playing in the wooden sandbox and ending your day with "Cocorico chante le coq".Michelle had an innate connection with children.  She bestowed some of life's most important lessons to so many - Share. Be kind. Clean up. Take pride.

Michelle married her high school sweetheart, her "Dear", Florent Beaudin, in 1970 at the Christian Centre in Winnipeg. The newlyweds then moved to Barrows MB to continue their teaching careers and made many life long friends. On arrival of their first darling daughter Rachelle, they moved back closer to home first to St. Francois Xavier next to the White Horse statue where the welcomed their second darling daughter Julie Anne, then the big white house in St. Eustache where their darling son Daniel was born and finally to their newly built country acreage along the Assiniboine River. Countless family gatherings, usually themed with astounding mounds of food and highly anticipated (or dreaded) games, were celebrated with the extensive Allard and Beaudin families. So much fun, so much love, such precious times!

After retirement Michelle and Florent built their current home on Lake Manitoba in St. Laurent MB and moved "au lac" in 2003.  Once again a new yard and home flourished with their creativity and skills and has become a favorite haven for many of us whatever the season. Enjoying the beach and lake, Michelle's lavish gardens and bountiful kitchen, collecting special rocks, hot tubbing, cocktail hour (s!), quilting time, unparalleled sunsets, all made sweeter by Michelle and Flo's ceaseless hospitality and effort in creating fun and fellowship. To "get away from it all" Michelle and Florent, along with some siblings built and created another fantastic abode on First Cranberry Lake in Cranberry Portage MB. This luxury fishing retreat still rings with laughter, mosquitoes, tall fishing tails and thankfully some quiet quilt times when the boats are away.

Over the years, numerous committees and clubs have benefited and thrived on Michelle's energy, creativity, organizational skills (ie the ceaseless To Do lists), dedication and "spirited" visions and ideas. If Michelle was involved, you could be sure the project would be thoroughly executed with finesse and success. How many of us have been caught up in painting larger than life murals for the St. Eustache Figure Skating Club, decorating floats for the "rodeo" parade, making reindeer horns for 33 Kindergarteners, learning to square dance for the Beaudin centennial, hauling gourds and bails in for Fall Supper decorations, hunting for pussy willows in the wet ditches... She left a legacy wherever she went.

Michelle was an impact person. She will forever be remembered as a devoted and treasured wife, constant and loving Mom, the most awesome fun and wonder-inspiring Mémère, welcoming and fun mother in-law, favored and cherished daughter, beloved and supportive sister, entertaining Matante, preferred cousin and niece, true friend to so many, a comforting balm to those in need, a gifted and prolific gardener, inspired quilter, a nurturing "Madame Beaudin" teacher, a devout Christian who lived the word humbly, dedicated and charitable community member, a creator of fantastically fun schemes and events, an avid reader, a delicious cook and baker, an enthusiastic fisherwoman, a ring leader in many silly schemes...... Michelle was largely unaware of how sincerely she affected so many people. She was in short, magical! Many times we asked her how she managed to live life so truly, so constantly, so vibrantly, and so faithfully. In her own words left to inspire us postmortem Michelle wrote: "How do I do it? Well... Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.  Leave the rest to God! That's what I tried to do! MB" This is a testament to us all - she will continue to inspire and gently guide us always.

Michelle has gone to God who is everywhere. And so Mom, we will feel you in warm sun rays and cozy quilts, hear you in the laughter of your precious grandchildren, taste you in hearty soups and chocolate cupcakes, smell you in the spring breeze and smoky bonfires and see you in every luscious garden and beautiful sunset. In death our family love only grows as it now encompasses both heaven and earth. Jamais au revoir mais plutôt... a la prochaine. Nous t'aimons éternellement.  A Dieu.  Merci!

We, Florent and family, would like to thank our extended circle of family and friends for creating a lifetime of memories with us and especially for all the support and prayers offered to Michelle through her battle with pancreatic cancer.  From diagnosis to death Michelle's acceptance, inner strength, profound concern for us and unwavering trust in God's plan comforted and guided us.  She was an amazing and gracious shepherd in this storm.  We would also like to recognize the excellent and compassionate care provided to Michelle by the staff at Cancer Care in St. Boniface and The Grace Hospital. Lastly we thank Dr. Graham, Vera Appleyard, Laura Klammer and all the staff at the Stonewall hospital who lead us carefully and kindly to Mom's peaceful passing.

Funeral for Michelle will be celebrated Friday March 24, 2017 beginning at 1:15pm with a life celebration and mass at 2:00pm in the St. Eustache Roman Catholic Church.  Reception to follow at the St. Eustache Hall. Interment in the St. Eustache Parish Cemetery is planned for the summer of 2017.

Michelle now enjoys the most beautiful celestial garden. Should you desire and in lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Cancer Care Manitoba in her honor.
