Nan Rosalie Sanderson

Peacefully at the Tiger Hills Health Centre in Treherne, MB on Thursday, January 19, 2017, Mrs. Nan Sanderson of Treherne, Manitoba passed away at the age of 93 years.

She leaves to mourn her passing her two children, Jim (Kate) Sanderson of Portage la Prairie and Patricia (Murray) Wray of Treherne, 6 grandchildren, Jolene (Curtis) Zeghers, Rachelle (Colin) Matychuk, Ainsley Wray (Tim Rex), Chris Sanderson (Jenn Ritchie), Jon Sanderson (Fiona Robson) and Laura Sanderson (Louis Vautour), and 7 great grandchildren, George and Leo Zeghers, Scarlet, Lucie and Vivian Matychuk, McKinnley and Abhaya Sanderson; as well as a family of extended grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her sister Pat Wildman, sister-in-law Ida Sanderson and brother-in-law Ken (Elaine) Sanderson.

She was predeceased by her parents Jim and Mabel Cuddy, her husband Bill Sanderson and a sister Embree Law, and brother-in-law Don Sanderson.

Mom was a passionate teacher. Her teaching career spanned 27 years, in Sanford, Riverton, Holland and Treherne. Her life was filled with love of family and music. She was the church organist at the Emmanuel Anglican Church in Holland, and at the United Churches in Holland and Treherne for many years. She was also actively involved in the choir at Trinity United Church in Portage La Prairie. Mom was a trained vocalist, and sang at many functions through the years. She passed this love of music on to her many family members.

Funeral Services will be held at Adam’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Heather Grobb officiating. Committal service at the Hillside Cemetery in Portage la Prairie at 3 p.m. followed by a Come-and-Go luncheon at 4 p.m. at the home of Jim and Kate Sanderson, 65124 Road 42W, Portage la Prairie. (1 mile west of Simplot)

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to one’s charity of choice.
