Florence Masse

Peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, Ms. Florence Masse of Starbuck, Manitoba passed away at the age of 96 years.

She leaves to mourn her sister Helen Sigurdson and one sister-in-law Anne Masse along with her numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Florence was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Theodore (Mary), Mederic (Evelyne), Arthur (Lucille), Jovanna Taylor, Wilfrid (Anne), Dora (Ernest) Schnell and Yvonne (Leo) Menard as well as her brother in law Frank Sigurdson.

Florence was born in St. Claude, Manitoba. As a young girl she moved to the Starbuck area with her family. Following the death of her parents she remained on the family farm until the age of 90. At this time her health dictated her taking up residence at Riverview Health Center in Winnipeg.

Florence had a love for animals, in particular horses and dogs. She would regale us in stories of her two horses, Queen and Major.

The family would like to thank Riverview staff on CD-1 for the excellent care provided to Florence. The family would also like to give a special thanks to Dawn and Elizabeth Bathie and Rhino. You provided wonderful companion service to Florence for the last 6 years. You in effect became part of the family.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Starbuck, MB on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Lawrence Chibue Agorchukwu officiating.　 Interment to follow at the Starbuck Catholic Cemetery.

Overflow seating with will be available in the Church basement with audio and video.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
